SAFETY

Intelligent All-Wheel Drive
Driving in bad weather can be downright unnerving. But don't worry - Flex offers available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive. The beauty of AWD is that it doesn't just react to wheel slippage when it occurs, but anticipates it. AWD continuously monitors vehicle and driver inputs, predicts traction, and automatically delivers the precise amount of engine torque needed to all the wheels - even before slippage occurs.

Full Airbag Coverage
Flex comes with dual-stage front seat airbags in the Personal Safety System® and front seat-mounted side impact airbags. And there's the Safety Canopy System with side curtain airbags that helps protect outboard occupants in all three rows. The system can sense a side impact or rollover occurring. It also has "roll-fold" technology: the curtain airbag is designed to position itself between the occupant's head and side window glass.

AdvanceTrac with RSC
AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™(RSC®), standard in Flex, is the only stability control system with gyroscopic sensors measuring both vehicle roll and turning rates. Corner too quickly or swerve to avoid an object and RSC applies brake pressure and reduces engine power to help keep you under control. How quickly does RSC work? Well, how fast can you blink an eye?

4-Wheel Disc ABS
The smooth and straight stopping action of 4-wheel disc Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) is standard on every Flex. But braking isn't ABS's only task. The AdvanceTrac® Stability Enhancement System applies the anti-lock brakes as one of the measures it takes to help improve traction.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System
It's very important to check your tire pressure regularly to keep all four inflated within the manufacturer's specified pressure range, because tire pressure affects ride comfort, safety, and fuel economy. That's why Flex comes equipped with a standard Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

Reverse Camera System Option
The high-end Flex Limited can be equipped with the available Reverse Camera (included with the optional DVD Navigation System and SIRIUS Service). The camera automatically displays an image of what's behind you on the center dash display panel when you put the gearshift selector in reverse.
