NHTSA 5 Star Frontal Crash Test Rating
When it comes time to buy a full-size vehicle for your family, it's important to
know that Expedition and the extended-length Expedition EL have received the
highest 5-star frontal crash test rating* for the driver and right front
passenger from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for
nine years straight.
*Star ratings are part of the U.S. Department of Transportation's Safercar.gov
program (www.safercar.gov).
AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control
Expedition comes equipped with standard AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability
Control™ (RSC®). It's the only stability control system with gyroscopic sensors
measuring both vehicle yaw and roll motion. Corner too quickly or swerve to
avoid an object and RSC® will selectively apply brake pressure and adjust engine
power to help keep you under control.*
*Remember that even advanced technology cannot overcome the laws of physics.
It's always possible to lose control of a vehicle due to inappropriate driver
input for the conditions.
Airbag Coverage
Expedition provides comprehensive passive safety protection. Included as
standard equipment are front seat airbags, side-impact airbags, plus the Safety
Canopy® System with its large 2nd-generation side curtain airbags that enhance
protection for outboard occupants in all three rows. In the event of an
accident, Expedition helps protect you and your entire family.
Rear View Camera Option
Get a clear picture of what's behind you with the Rear View Camera option. Put
the vehicle's gear selector in Reverse and the system automatically transmits
the image to your rearview mirror. If your Expedition is equipped with the
available Navigation System, the image is shown on the navigation screen. The
Rear View Camera is available on Eddie Bauer in the optional Eddie Bauer
Convenience Package and standard on Limited and King Ranch.
