Ford SYNC
The voice-activated Ford SYNC® Communications and Entertainment System* is a
state-of-the-art, voice-activated system that fully integrates many
Bluetooth®-enabled mobile phones and digital media players. What can SYNC do?
Here's a sampling: Connects a Bluetooth-enabled phone. Allows you to control the
entire library of your connected MP3 player by voice. Offers hands-free control
of your cell phone. SYNC is optional on Expedition XLT and standard on Eddie
Bauer, Limited and King Ranch. Want to know more? Go to syncmyride.com.
*Driving while distracted can result in loss of vehicle control. Only use mobile
phones and other devices, even with voice commands, when it is safe to do so.
The Bluetooth word mark and logos are trademarks of the Bluetooth SIG, Inc.
Voice Activated Navigation System
The optional voice-activated Navigation System provides many navigational
features including detailed freeway exit, turn and ramp transition lane
guidance; street name announcement; current location display. Also part of the
system is a 10GB hard drive for storing photos, ripping CDs, and managing music
with the Jukebox function. And there's the greater wealth of travel information
the SIRIUS® Travel Link™ service* provides, such as real-time travel and weather
conditions plus lowest fuel prices. The system also comes with a single-disc CD
player and seven speakers including a subwoofer.
*Real-time traffic monitoring available in select markets. Some features are
unavailable while driving. Service not available in Alaska or Hawaii. See your
dealer for details. SIRIUS and Travel Link are registered trademarks of SIRIUS
Satellite Radio, Inc.
Rain Sensing Wipers
Rain-sensing wipers can detect rain, snow or road spray hitting your windshield,
and automatically run at just the right speed. You don't have to take your hands
off the wheel or other controls to adjust your wipers as road conditions change.
The system does this for you. And you can set its sensitivity to suit your
needs. It's available on Eddie Bauer with the available Eddie Bauer Convenience
Package and is standard equipment on Expedition Limited and King Ranch.
Reverse Sensing System
The Reverse Sensing System uses an audible signal to alert you to an obstacle up
to 16 ft. from the rear when slowly backing up. It's available on Expedition XLT
in the optional XLT Convenience Package, and is standard equipment on Expedition
Eddie Bauer, Limited and King Ranch.
Flex Fuel 5.4L Triton V8
The engine that powers the 2009 Ford Expedition is the same 5.4L Triton® V8 as
before, but is now equipped with standard Flex Fuel capability. The 5.4L Flex
Fuel can run on unleaded gasoline, E85 (85% ethanol and 15% gasoline) or any mix
of the two. So you can fill up wherever you are, even if E85 isn't readily
available.
